Library Colleagues

Mike Bolam is the Head of Metadata and Discovery in the University of Pittsburgh Library System. His expertise and support in all things metadata and working with the Library's collections data is invaluable to the CaD@Pitt project.

Kristin Britanik was the Digital Collections Coordinator of the Archives and Special Collections Department in the University Library System (until 2019). Her collaboration was critical in the early stages of the project. We're eternally grateful to her for sharing her knowledge of the Library's digital collections, AS&C priorities and processes, and using the digital repostiory system and interfaces.

Sandy Buehner, Diane Hughes, and Ed Lewis are present and former staff in the University of Pittsburgh Library system, who collaborated on the CaD@Pitt project during Summer 2020. They helped test instructional modules through their own data implementation projects, including cleaning up and generating genre data for 19th century juvenile materials.

Willow Gillingham was a Systems Developer in the IT department of the University of Pittsburgh Library System (until 2019). Without her development of the Gamera, the system that interfaces with the Library’s installation of Islandora, much of the work of this project would have been impossible.

Miriam Meislik is the Media Curator in the Archives and Special Collections Department of the University of Pittsurgh Library System. She joined the project team in hosting our 2020 Datathon event, bringing her knowledge of and passion for the various Pittsburgh-centered historic photographic collections featured in the event.

Graduate Assistants and Interns

Kahlila Chaar-Pérez was a summer graduate student intern (2020) in the Digital Scholarship Services unit of the University Library System. Her much-appreciated consultation on the CaD@Pitt instructional modules has enabled us to develop stronger material than we otherwise could have.

Evelyn Chan was the 2019-2020 Digital Scholarship Services Graduate Student Assistant (GSA) in the University Library System. She was a rockstar in helping to organize and host our 2020 Datathon event, "Putting Pittsburgh Histories on the Map: A ULS Digital Collections Datathon."
